Important COVID-19 update on new national restrictions
 Dear resident,
As a new lockdown for England comes into force tomorrow (Thursday 5 November 2020) until Wednesday 2 December, I’m contacting you as Kirklees Council’s Director of Public Health, to make sure you have all the information and support you need to stay safe.
The reality is that COVID-19 cases have risen quickly throughout the country in recent weeks. We all have a crucial role to play in reversing the trend by reducing our contact with other households.
We will work side-by-side with communities across Kirklees to make sure our most vulnerable residents have the support they need. We will also continue to deliver the vital services that you all rely on every day.
The COVID-19 restrictions will now be the same across the whole country and will see non-essential businesses close. We have summarised the restrictions for you below.
These restrictions will be difficult for us all, but the togetherness and strength Kirklees has shown throughout this pandemic already is what will continue to get us through this. Please look out for each other, as you always do, and thank you for playing your part.
 Rachel Spencer-Henshall
Director of Public Health, Kirklees Council
