As we move closer to winter, we want to remind you that although some things may be different, there is still loads that you and your family can do to have fun and be healthy, both mentally and physically.
So this week we have a competition to challenge your creativity, and we're going to discover some unbe-leaf-able outdoor inspiration. We're also looking at how to keep active in the winter months, and learn more about the menopause to support men and women!

It’s that time of year again when we queue up excitedly for the perfect pumpkin! Although we can’t have fancy dress parties or trick or treat this year, we can still have a go at pumpkin carving. This year we want to see your Pumptastically carved creations... send your pumpkin pics to hellosocial@kirklees.gov.uk so we can feature them on our Instagram page.

Forest bathing

There’s no better time to start ‘shinrin yoku’ (that’s Japanese for forest bathing…) than autumn. Let's talk menopause

By understanding the menopause, we can look to be supportive of the women in our lives. The menopause happens when the ovaries begin to produce less of the hormone oestrogen and no longer release an egg each month, this causes a change in the balance of hormones in the body which can lead to a range of symptoms (NHS).
