It's Recycle Week

We recycled 50,549 tonnes of waste from your homes last year and prevented 94.1% of our waste from going to landfill.

This is great - thank you!

But, we need your help to do better...

The fact above shows we're doing well with recycling but we could do even better.

Some people are putting food waste in the green bin - we can't recycle it and bins with it in won't be emptied. All recycling should be loose, clean and dry in your bin. Please don't use black plastic bags as we can't tell what's in them.

Please help by making sure everyone in your house knows what can and can't be recycled in the green bin - the picture below will help.

Compost your food waste

Compost Bin

Food waste can't be recycled, why not use a compost bin to dispose of it?

It's inexpensive, reduces the amount of waste disposed of and provides nutrients for your garden.
