Training
 Level 2 NVQ Rail Engineering Track Maintenance with Network Rail
Anyone over the age of 19 who is unemployed and lives inside a London Borough for Level 2 NVQ in Rail Engineering Track Maintenance.
The course is full-time for 9 weeks and based at our Training Academy in Leyton, East London. The first cohort starts next week, and we will be running them every month.
As well as the above qualification, delegates will gain Network Rail competence tickets in Personal Track Safety (PTS AC/DCCR) and Track Induction. They will also be guaranteed an interview!

Spear Programme
Starting Tuesday 17th September.
The Spear Programme supports 16-24-year-olds who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET), helping them overcome barriers like mental health challenges or criminal records. It begins with a six-week course, combining group and 1-1 sessions to build confidence, improve skills like CV writing and interview practice, and includes a real interview opportunity.
Trainees receive a year of follow-up support, with over 75% securing work or further training and remaining there a year later.

Free Basic skills
The Lifelong Learning Centre CCG at Finsbury Park are running these courses leading to GCSE examinations in English and Maths free of charge.
These intensive courses in GCSE English and GCSE Maths started this month and will have another interview session / assessment tomorrow at 3pm.

Salesforce and Digital Leap Work Experience Programme
Are you aged 18-23 and looking to get ahead in Tech?
Not in Full time education, employment, or have not completed a University Degree.
Digital leap is working with Salesforce to offer a two week work experience programme along with a four day employability upskilling course.
Work on real- world projects, following completion get 6 months coaching support from Catch 22 to help develop your skills further.

Work Taster Programme - Equal Access Network x Two Brothers Pictures
Are you new to the Film & TV industry? Are you interested in a career in TV Development or Production? Do you want a sense of what it's like working in-house at a renowned production company? If yes, this Programme is for you!
Throughout the programme, candidates are required to commit to the following:
- Film London’s Equal Access Network’s Employability Course.
- One week (5 working days) work placement with Two Brothers.
- A post-programme bespoke 1:1 career session with the EAN team to discuss your experiences and, next steps in your career.
We are offering two people the chance to do a week-long placement:
- Placement One will take place w/c Monday 4th November 2024
- Placement Two will take place w/c Monday 2nd December 2024.

Youth Council
If you are aged 13-17, live or go to school in Islington or are looked after by Islington Council, this is your chance to be the voice of your generation.
Every two years, 14 youth councillors are elected to represent the young people of Islington. It is a great opportunity to have your say and make the borough a better place for people your age.
If you are interested in becoming a youth councillor, please look carefully at the information in the links on this page. If you wish to run as a candidate, you will need to fill out the online registration form by Wednesday 2nd October 6pm.

If you live in Islington, claiming benefits and a have a child aged 0-16 (or up to 18 with disabilities) who needs childcare, you may be entitled to a Childcare Bursary.
The bursary is there to help parents who are starting work, a work placement, or short-term training to pay for childcare. It does not need to be paid back.
