New Hardship Fund is open for applications
We have opened applications for our £1million Hardship Fund to help thousands of residents struggling to make ends meet.
The fund targets one-off £250 grants at two specific groups – totalling more than 3,800 households – to help them cover the costs of essentials including rent, food and energy bills.
The funds are aimed at low-income working households, who will need to apply for a grant, and other households on benefits who were not eligible for any previous cost of living support payments – this group will automatically receive the grant.
To find out if you are eligible to apply for the fund, and for more information, visit our website using the link below. If you have difficulties accessing the internet you can also call us on 020 7527 8222.

Your views on St Mary’s Church Low Traffic Neighbourhood
We are asking for resident’s feedback on the St Mary’s Church Low Traffic Neighbourhood to help us decide if it should be made permanent. The 18-month trial was introduced to create a more welcoming, pleasant area where it’s easier to walk, cycle, scoot, and use buggies and wheelchairs.
Since then, we have seen traffic fall within the neighbourhood and on surrounding roads, creating more friendly, welcoming, and environmentally friendly streets.
We want to hear how the neighbourhood has affected you. A public consultation is open until Wednesday 26 April.
Alongside Hackney Council, we’ve announced exciting proposals to make the area around the Southgate Road and Northchurch Road more welcoming, safer, and environmentally friendly.
Our proposals include changes to make it easier to walk, cycle, and wheel, widened footpaths, and new greenery. Find out more and have your say by Tuesday 25 April.
