Lab Support Technician

Are you interested in Life Sciences and keen to learn more about the exciting sector? Are you looking to take your first steps in a rewarding career supporting the everyday functions of a laboratory? Do you have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and are looking to play a vital role in a growing team?
The Sterilisation and Waste Technician role would someone looking to take their first steps in the Life Science sector, experience delivering excellent customer service would be an advantage as would a background working with chemicals (perhaps in a cleaning role).
The role is practical, and each day you would support the collection and processing of dirty glassware from different laboratories, sterilising glassware using specialist equipment and ensuring its labelled and returned appropriately. You’ll be working to tight deadlines, so you’ll need to be well organised and be able to keep up to date records and notes. You’ll also be monitoring stock levels and working within a small team – so good teamwork and communication skills are required.

Tower Hamlets, Hackney Council, and The Strive Group are gearing up to deliver a free Creative Enterprise Zone (CEZ) Skills Training Programme. 3 x Community Arts Trainees

The Community Arts Traineeship is a skills development programme. You will gain practical skills and experience running creative projects in your community through on-the-job training. We are recruiting three trainees to work as a team. Trainees will work on a project involving creative workshops with older people, and other members of the community and design and run your own event.
As well as hands-on experience, you’ll get a mentor to help you think more about your future. We’ll also help you with your CV and applying for jobs. Roles are paid at London Living Wage (£11.95 per hour).

Creative Connect
Personal & tailored 1:1 support for young people seeking a career in the creative industries | 18–24-year-olds
Through Creative Connect, you can access industry-specific career coaching for anyone looking to work in the creative, cultural, or digital sectors. These are delivered either online or in person, to suit what works for you. As part of these sessions, you can use our bespoke application support for any of the creative jobs or opportunities you're looking to apply for. This includes feedback on CVs, cover letters, and application forms, as well as pre-interview assessments, all designed to to make sure you put your best foot forward as you step into your desired creative role.
As part of the Creative Connect service, we also offer feedback on your existing work or portfolios, and help you navigate the job market by carefully selecting new job opportunities that match your skills, learning goals, and creative career aspirations.
Creative Connect is delivered via one-to-one calls and is supplemented with small group sessions with up to six other people. Whether you’re certain of what you’d like to explore next or a bit unsure of your options, Creative Connect is a useful resource for all young people at any stage of their career.
Prop House Assistant

Backgrounds Studio Hire are a food and lifestyle photography prop house with two hire studios on site. We pride ourselves on our customer service and creating a friendly workspace for our team and clients. We are based near Kings Cross and are looking for a new member to join our team. You will be an integral part of a small owner operated business where everyone’s opinion is valued. The role will cover a broad range of duties covering all aspects of the prop and studio hire business.
The duties of the role on an average day would include processing hires while packing the props ready for transportation. You will be dealing with telephone orders, email enquiries and deliveries for the Studios. Organising transport, whilst liaising with drivers and clients. When deliveries arrive, you will check them in, unpack and return the props to the appropriate storage areas. Whilst doing all of this you will need to provide refreshments and assistance for clients and keep the work environment in a clean and safe state. Throughout these duties we would always expect to see a high level of customer care.
Essential qualities required: - Customer service with experience in challenging situations. - Prioritising, multitasking and collaborating in a busy environment. - An adaptable & common-sense approach to self-management. - Responsibility of tasks and outcomes. - Courteous telephone manner and high levels of written and verbal communication. - Attention to detail. - Ability to verbally describe visual items in a clear, concise and accurate manner. - Basic IT skills.

A&R Academy - Columbia Records
Internship programme | £23,000 per annum | Starts March 2023 | Applications close Monday 5 December at 18:00
Columbia Records is a premier frontline label of Sony Music Entertainment. A&R is the part of the record label that is responsible for scouting new talent and then commercially developing that talent. A&R act as a liaison between the artist, artist management and the record label. A&R’s oversee the recording process and assist with the marketing and promotion of the artist. You will nurture and help develop the artist.
This is a 12-month, paid opportunity and as part of the A&R Academy you will also be part of the wider internship network at Sony Music UK. You will have a personal mentor throughout your time with us and along with fellow interns, you will get to attend “spotlight sessions” where you will get to learn the mechanics of a major record company. Day to day you will be working closely with the A&R team at Columbia Records, who will develop your A&R skillset through on the job training and real-life scenarios. You can expect to receive bespoke A&R training where you will cover a whole range of topics from music rights to data, music trends to studio & mixing sessions, artist development and what really goes into releasing a track!
The program starts in March 2023, runs for a full year and is paid at £23,000. You must be eligible to work in the UK and be available for a full-time role for 12 months. This is an entry level role and not suitable for experienced industry professionals.
