Are you a young person looking for part time role to fit around your schedule? This could be for you. 

We are looking for Saturday Library Assistants to join our team. Working either 6 hours or 7 hours between 9am and 5pm every Saturday. 

You will need to be a friendly and confident person who will be happy to talk to our customers, working as part of a team to deliver a good library service to Islington residents along with a strong interest in promoting and serving the whole community, including children. You will also need to have good IT skills.

Pay: £12.38 per hour.

Location: Central Library, N4 Library , Lewis Carroll library

This job placement will provide an insight into working within a young independent hospitality business. The role will include a variety of responsibilities both front and back of house, starting from the ground up and progressing as skills are learnt.

Please note that we are also closed every Monday/Tuesday so those will always be your days off. Our week is from Wed-Sun and you will be expected to work weekends. Shift Patterns will vary but will generally be a daytime of evening shift, 6-8 hours depending on the day.

6 Month Paid Employment With Food Redistribution Charity The Felix Project: Warehouse Role 18-30 NEETS

Street League have partnered with The Felix Project to recruit for a limited number of roles in their warehouse in East London.

Everyday looks different at The Felix Project due to the nature of the charity. The role includes but is not limited to, packing food boxes in the Warehouse, supporting in the kitchen to prepare food plus miscellaneous duties to keep the warehousing running efficiently. Additionally the pay is London Living Wage and there is opportunity for the 6 month contract to be extended to permanent.

Paid 100 Hour Work Placement With DHL Express

Street League are currently looking to recruit 10 young people aged 18-24 for Warehouse Operative roles in Bermondsey, Barking and Wapping, with potential employment at the end.

Eligibility Criteria

• Aged 18-24

• Not currently in employment, training or education

• Able to travel to one of or all 3 warehouse locations

• Available throughout the months of October and November for training and the placement

• Will pass a DBS check and 5 year British Vetting Check*

The DHL Express Vetting Process is rather complex and thorough. On behalf of DHL we will be required to run an Enhanced DBS check as well as a 5 year Vetting check due to the nature of the work having to align with the Civil Aviation Authority regulations.

The placement will take place throughout November however the application process will begin immediately upon referral.

Young people will be expected to attend our Street League Academy to prior to the work placement in October from East Ham Leisure Centre, 324 Barking Rd, London E6 2RT.

Level 1 Business Admin Traineeship - Prevista/Emerge Academy

This traineeship is open for referrals for all 16-24 year olds who have not achieved a full level 3 qualification and those who are unemployed and have little or no work experience.

In 5-6 months, young people will gain the basic knowledge and skills to succeed in an administrative role. Participants will gain 100 hours of hands-on experience in a work environment in many industries like tech and finance. This can lead to roles within different departments such as Human Resources, Marketing, Sales, and Finance.’

Prevista will be on-boarding the young people and offering employability skills and Maths and English (Mon or Tues) with Emerge Academy delivering the Level 1 Business Admin qualification (Weds). Young people will also be offered valuable and real workplace experience (Thursdays).

Travel expenses and bursaries are available – an eligibility assessment will be conducted by Prevista. All young people will have access to a laptop. Street League: Functional Skills + Sports Coaching Award For 16-24 NEETS

At Street League we are pleased to be offering Functional Skills in Maths and English at Level 1 and Level 2 as well as Level 1 Sports Coaching Award from September onwards for ages 16-24.

Upcoming intake date: Tuesday 30 November 2021

As this course is now rolling, we will be releasing intake dates throughout the year. To refer a Young Person onto our programme, please ensure there is sufficient time given upon referral to account for enrolment.

This course is for the young people who have not or will not achieve a Grade 3 or above in their GCSE Maths and English.

We offer Entry Level 3, Level 1 and Level 2 Maths and English courses for ages 16 to 24. The Functional Skills Courses will last for 4 months in total and is accredited by City & Guilds.

Alongside our Functional Skills Programme, we will also be running our Level 1 Sports Coaching Award which eligible young people can participate in whilst completing their Maths and English qualifications.

Requirements:
• Aged between 16 and 24 years old
• Not currently in education, training or employment (more than 16 hours per week)
• Haven’t already attained a level 1 or 2 or GCSE equivalent in Maths and/or English
• Can commit to the course for a duration of 4 months
• Can commit to travelling to a Street League Academy in either London Bridge or Victoria.

Get Into Digital Marketing with WYK Digital (18-30)

The Prince’s Trust and WYK Digital are excited to present this 11-week programme focusing on the digital marketing sector. This programme will expose all participants to training and working with real businesses, predominantly using Facebook and Google marketing tools. With support with dedicated expert trainers, industry mentors and skills coaching, young people will build up a huge range of skills both soft, technical, and also practical. Upon completion of the course, participants will be given the opportunity to apply for jobs with some of the largest digital marketing companies in the world and given support with the guaranteed interviews. Over 75% of participant's secure permanent work in the digital marketing industry within 3 months with starting salaries of 20-22k!
