Students celebrate their GCSE results

Have you just got your exam results?

Islington’s GCSE students recorded a great set of results last week, improving on last year’s performance despite the trauma, upheaval and uncertainty of the last few months.

As reflected across much of the country, Islington’s provisional GCSE result benchmarks have improved on last year, despite changes to the way they were graded due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Read the full story from GCSE Results Day and A-Level Results to learn more and hear first-hand from young people who received grades.

If you, or someone you know, received results this summer, Islington’s Progress Team is here to help, with information and advice, whatever the results. If you have concerns or questions about your next steps in education, employment or training, get in touch. Call 020 7527 7031 or email progress@islington.gov.uk for advice and to make an appointment.

Do Your Bit

Please continue to do your bit

Over the summer, with more people out and about making the most of Islington’s outdoor spaces and socially-distanced meet ups with friends and family happening once again, we have unfortunately seen a surge in littering and noise complaints across the borough.

Most people are doing their bit, but we all need to continue to work together to keep Islington safe and pleasant for everyone. Coronavirus is still a reality and we all need to do what we can to avoid a local lockdown.

Remember to bin your litter or take it home, dispose of PPE in the general waste bin and think of your neighbours by keeping the noise down, especially late at night.

If you spot a problem on our streets or to report unnecessary noise or anti-social behaviour (ASB) visit www.islington.gov.uk/reportaproblem.

Don't lose your voice at future elections

Make sure you're registered to vote

From today, all households in Islington will be sent a form by post to ensure we have the correct voter information for you on the electoral register. You may also receive an email or a text message if the council holds this information for you. For those households that are required to respond, the quickest and easiest way to respond is online, using the security code found in your letter. Please respond quickly to help save the council money by eliminating the need to send reminders and arrange visits to your property.
