Official Receivers are undertaking their biennial review of their rotas in respect of insolvency practitioner appointments. The rotas are used for the appointment of insolvency practitioners when the Official Receiver requires an appointment by the Secretary of State of an insolvency practitioner in an insolvency case. The rotas exist to ensure a fair distribution of work.
The Official Receiver rotas have been re-shaped for the current review, so that they are now in line with the areas covered by the Official Receivers who work from the Insolvency Service’s Regional Centres. This has involved the amalgamation of rotas that linked to offices that have now closed.
The rota that an insolvency practitioner will be eligible for will be determined by their nearest County Court Hearing Centre with insolvency jurisdiction. All the hearing centres are allocated to a designated Official Receiver.
Letters will be issued shortly to insolvency practitioners currently on the Official Receivers’ rotas to confirm whether their insolvency practitioner firm wishes to be included on the regional rota.
If you are not currently on an Official Receivers’ rota, please contact the Insolvency Service at ip.requests@insolvency.gov.uk by 01 October 2025 and your enquiry will be directed to the appropriate team. Information about how to apply to be included on the Official Receiver’s rota will then be sent to you.
Further information on the rotas is available at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/insolvency-practitioner-rota.
If you have any queries regarding this update, please contact ip.requests@insolvency.gov.uk.
