Stay safe Isle of Wight

As you enjoy everything the Island has to offer this summer, please continue to be careful. This will help stop the spread of COVID-19 and protect the NHS.

There are some things we can all do to help stop the virus spreading:

How to stay safe

Newclose updated opening hours

COVID-19 testing on the Island available seven days a week

From Sunday 25 July the test centre at Newclose, which is for those with COVID-19 symptoms or who have been contacted by NHS Test and Trace, increased its opening hours to include Sundays so that testing is available seven days a week for Islanders.

Please do not arrive without an appointment. Book your test by calling 119, online or via the NHS COVID-19 app.

It is open from 8.30am to 2pm, Monday to Sunday.

Important things to remember:

  • If you have symptoms book a test and self-isolate.
  • If you can't get to a test centre, you can still book a home test.
  • Please don't travel on public transport to get a PCR test.
  • Please don't book a PCR test if you don't have symptoms. You can take regular rapid response tests (LFT) when you don't have symptoms – these are available from most pharmacies or can be ordered online.

Find Your Space - Fort Victoria

Find your space

Escape the crowds and discover the Island’s beautiful open spaces this summer.

This week our spotlight is on Fort Victoria. It has some of the Island’s most remarkable views of the western Solent and the shore is one of the best vantage points for watching passing boats and shipping.

The scenic beach is the ideal place to find fossil turtle shell and crocodile scales.
