Guide

The World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) have published a series of guides on Intellectual Property for business. Looking Good: An Introduction to Industrial Designs for SMEs is the second in a series of guides.  The guide focuses on industrial designs, a key factor in determining the success of products in the market.

 

Tackling non-exhaust and non-road vehicle air pollution

Innovate UK, working on behalf of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), will fund organisation’s to develop and demonstrate new products or services which reduce the harmful emissions from one or more of:

  • road vehicle brake and tyre wear and/or road surface wear
  • non-road mobile machinery used for construction, such as excavators, bulldozers, front loaders, cranes and compressors
  • transport refrigeration units

Launch of the RECREATE Project

The RECREATE project led by Coventry University Enterprises Ltd has recently started. RECREATE stands for REinforce Competitiveness of REgionAl Transport SMEs, aims to improve the capacity and capability of regional transport SMEs to further develop and grow.

The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and by National Resources and implemented under the INTERREG EUROPE Programme.

The most common planning mistakes will be analysed and some practical tips will be given, so that you can have the best possible results from an H2020 project.

Horizon 2020 EU Partnering Event, 10th January 2019, Stockholm

The Swedish Research Council, Vinnova, EEN, Innovate UK, and the Knowledge Transfer Network are pleased to announce a partnering event focused on fostering and facilitating R&D project consortia for Horizon 2020 funded projects for topic; BHC-07-2019, Regenerative medicine: from new insights to new applications.

Projects should focus on innovative translational research to develop regenerative processes towards the ultimate clinical goal of addressing unfilfilled clinical needs of large patient groups.

Up Your Game, Global Creative Industries Matchmaking Event, 7th–8th February 2019, Bradford

EEN is organising a B2B matchmaking event alongside the Yorkshire Games Festival in February 2019.  Participants can pre-arrange meetings with other event delegates to explore potential collaboration ideas, innovation and investment in animation, games, motion graphics, visual effects, augmented reality and virtual reality.

Women in Innovation Events, London and Belfast

As part of Innovate UK’s second Women in Innovation programme, The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) will be running Building Success events in London and Belfast. The events will include practical workshops including a Grant Writing Masterclass, finding out exactly what an investor is looking for, KTN’s Innovation Canvas and Market Validation. There will also be talks from keynote speakers, a look at the funding and finance landscape with upcoming opportunities, and a panel session with successful women entrepreneurs from the region. Most importantly these events will provide attendees with plenty of opportunities to network with their peers and learn about the support available to them in their region.  Register to attend one of the Building Success events:

Women in Innovation Global Business Innovation Programme, 3rd-7th March 2019


Innovate UK together with UK Science & Innovation Network Israel are organising a Global Business Innovation Programme for women innovators in Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Data with Israel to encourage diversity in innovation and showcase UK women-led businesses.
This fully-funded programme, consisting of a preparation phase in the UK, a 5-day visit to Israel and subsequent follow-up support, will help your business bring your ideas closer to market by tapping into the strong Israeli Research & Development and investor community. The closing date to register for this visit is Monday 7th January 2019.
