2017 Hull Tell the World
Martin Green

One year on, what happens next?

One year on from the day Hull was crowned UK City of Culture 2017, Culture Company Chief Executive Martin Green announced that preparation is key to making 2017 a huge success.

In three events held to celebrate the anniversary of the win, cultural stakeholders, young people and the public heard about Martin’s ambitions for 2017 as he set out how Hull will prepare for its year in the spotlight.

Speaking to packed houses in the Ferens Art Gallery Live Art Space, Martin said: “Hull put in a great bid and it’s now the Culture Company’s job to curate and deliver that bid. We want to stage the greatest, most spectacular year of arts and culture ever seen in the UK – and to do that detailed planning, preparation and partnership working will be the key to success.”
