Haydn’s magnificent Creation Mass got its nickname from the use, in the 'Gloria', of short phrases taken from his great oratorio 'The Creation'. A little imagination - Paintings by Pauline Scott
Open Sat/Sun 12-4pm from 7 - 29 June KAG Gallery, 26 – 27 Humber Street, Hull, HU1 1TH Free
So what will you see? Pauline sees many things in her work. Colours, shapes and different media become natural phenomena such as water, or forces of nature such as wind or waves. Parts of the figure transform into elements of landscape, cellular structures become lily ponds. Her work has imagination and energy and also peace and tranquillity. She loves to look and see new things and new angles – often turning works to see a new image. Some pieces in this exhibition started with a blend of techniques, media, movements and colours in which her imagination could see things emerging and developing. Pauline wants the viewer to use imagination to appreciate and explore the work, to see or find things within.
So what do you see – with a little imagination? Pauline’s academic background is in Applied Biology, her journey as a Painter was started by her work as a life model, where she has had a long and varied career working in Adult Education and Colleges. She studied BA (hons) Fine Art at Scarborough.
A workshop will be run to coincide with the exhibition for further details see their website or their Facebook page: KingstonArtgroup.

The final film from the master of Japanese animation, Hiyao Miyazaki, The Wind Rises is an opportunity to be swept away by the sheer wonder of Studio Ghibli's animation. In something of a departure from the more fantastical fare of Spirited Away or My Neighbour Totoro, Mayazaki chooses with his final film to tell the story of Jiro Horikoshi, a man who channeled his childhood dreams of becoming a pilot into becoming one of the greatest aeroplane engineers of all time, designer of the Mitsubishi Zero, and a man whose life encompassed some of the most turbulent events in Japan in the first half of the twentieth century.
