We are thrilled to announce that we are regional and country winners for our One Hull of A Read project in the British Book Awards Library of the Year - North England category!

We run free drop-in sessions at our Work Clubs to help you use a computer and access websites to find courses that help you improve your basic skills.
If you need help setting up and updating your Universal Credit account we offer a free drop-in session every Tuesday from 2-4pm at Bransholme Library.

Young Makers is an exciting new course for young people aged 10+ that explores the skills needed to get creative and start making. We'll be covering a variety of easy and fun techniques, both digital and traditional over 6 weeks - with a personalised item to take away each time.

Thursday 9 April / 10:30am + 1:30 pm Makerspace, Hull Central Library
Explore a mash up of tech and old school making to create a different type of zine! We'll be using a combination of interactive story-telling software and hands on crafting to create a 'choose your own adventure style' zine. Suitable for all young people aged 11 - 16 years.

Borrow books from your local library to help manage your health and wellbeing. Reading Well is a national Books on Prescription programme from The Reading Agency and Libraries Connected, available through public libraries across England and Wales. There are five Reading Well collections covering mental health, parent support, children and teens and dementia.

Folk Library Creations is a brand new project putting together creative exhibitions and music experiences in libraries.
Our inaugural event consists of an art exhibition running from 2pm, where you can see the spirit and craft of local art and meet the artists behind it all. Then later at 5:30pm, acoustic music starts. These are no microphone performances that hope to capture the traditional folk atmosphere and bring the community closer to the words of the performers. Come and be part of a new creative scene!

An exhibition by Chris Tansey, Tarik Skalli, Karim Skalli and Bill Tansey. Concrete Storeys centres around Chris Tansey's upbringing in the high rise flats of Anlaby Road and the lasting impact of that location on his practice.

We Roar is an award-winning exhibition that showcases exceptional artwork and poetry created by prisoners in England and the USA, including Hull. Through creative expressions the exhibition explores themes of identity and transformation.

If you can’t get to a library due to ill-health why not let the library come to you. We carefully select books to read or listen to and deliver them direct to your door. Whether you’re young or old, live in your own home or in residential accommodation, this free service is available to you.
This month we say a fond farewell to Cath Anderson, who will be retiring after an incredible 43 years of dedicated service to Hull Libraries! She can now look forward to the Home Library Service visiting her in the future! Enjoy your next chapter Cath!
