We're delighted to be hosting a 'Community Exchange Hub' at East Park Library. We'll have tokens and books to exchange from 12 Feb - 15 March, during library opening hours.
The National Year of Reading helps shine a light on all we have to offer and we can't wait to get you involved!

We kicked off the #NationalYearofReading by revealing the shortlists for the James Reckitt Hull Children's Book Award. They're all fabulous so we're glad we don't have to choose a winner! Voting for the Picture Book Awards opens on Fri 6 Feb - we can’t wait to see which story captures our young readers’ hearts!

Exhibition: Saturday 28 February - 2 April 2026 / Hull Central Library
Launch event: Saturday 28 February, 10am - 3pm
We Roar is an exhibition that showcases exceptional artwork and poetry created by prisoners in England and the USA. Through creative expressions the exhibition explores themes of identity, resilience, and transformation, aiming to challenge perceptions and spark meaningful conversations.
To celebrate the arrival of the exhibition in Hull, a launch event will take place on Saturday 28 February from 10am - 3pm. There will be a talk from Paul Schofield on the history of Hull Prison, and artist Faye Claridge, who curated the exhibition, will deliver a short introductory talk and guide attendees through selected works on display. Tickets will be available from Monday 9 Feb on Eventbrite.
