Hull City Council gritting teams have been working around the clock for the last 48 hours ensuring the roads and footpaths have been treated during the current cold spell. They are currently having a well-earned breather before starting again at 6 o'clock this evening to work through the night in preparation for the morning commute. 

Highway Code Rule 231 Drive extremely carefully when the roads are icy. Avoid sudden actions as these could cause loss of control.
