Closing date: 31 August 2018

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Legal Officer to work in the Property Team within Legal Services.  You should hold or be working towards a legal qualification (CILEX or equivalent), or have a law degree and suitable legal experience or be able to demonstrate that you have significant relevant experience of legal work. Ideally you will have some knowledge and experience of, or an interest in, property related matters.

You will advise and work primarily on landlord and tenant matters, acquisitions and disposals, plus have opportunity to play a role in some exciting and innovative high value multi-disciplinary projects.  The team also deals with licences, leases, easements and all property related matters. You must be confident in dealing with clients, partners, external professionals and members of the public.

You must be highly organised, flexible and be able to demonstrate that you are able to deal effectively with a large and varied workload that is often subject to tight deadlines. You should be an excellent communicator and team player and be able to demonstrate good research skills. Adaptability is key, as is the ability to understand and interpret the needs of the client/Council.

You will carry your own caseload, but also provide support to the team Lawyers and Team Leader. This will include drafting of both standard and bespoke legal documents and attendance at meetings with internal clients and external stakeholders.

Interviews week commencing 17th September.
