Are you passionate about making a positive and lasting difference for the people of Hull? Care and support in Hull is transforming and Hull City Council is looking for exceptional individuals like you to join the Adult Social Care Team.

You will have thorough knowledge of Section 117 policy and procedures, and evidence of working collaboratively in a strategic partnership environment.  You will also have good understanding of the key legislation that informs the work of adult social care. You will need to be confident in discussing Ordinary residence issues with Humber Teaching Foundation Trust staff and  ASC Social Workers, Support Officers and Occupational Therapists and Assistants.

Your role will include delivery of the following key priorities:

  1. Working with the Clinical commissioning Group (CCG) Continuing Health Care (CHC) team to make sure that decisions are reasonable, take into account social care perspectives and apply CHC criteria in fair and transparent ways.
  2. Working with the relevant CCG commissioner on Section 117 work that has been initiated. Seeing this through to its outcome and making sure reasonable and equitable arrangements are put in place between CCG and Adult Social Care (ASC).
  3. Updating the relevant policies as necessary using the Councils Policy gateway, and the guidance on Connect to Support on the New Operating Model.
  4. Investigating Ombudsman complaints and reporting findings to the relevant manager
  5. Contributing to the work of the Court of Protecting panel
  6. Involvement in delivering the ASC action plan for 2018-19 as necessary.  This will involve working as part of a wider senior management team on key deliverables, and basic project management activity
  7. Undertaking a subject access requests and data protection investigations policy and procedure review.   This will require a basic understanding of data protection policy and subject access request procedures.
