We are seeking to recruit Independent Conference & Reviewing Officers on a fixed-term basis until 31st March 2019 to manage increased activity and to cover secondment.

The post combines the roles of statutory Independent Reviewing Officer in relation to children looked after and chair of child protection conferences.

You will need to be a qualified social worker with a minimum of five years post-qualifying experience of children's social work including both child protection and children looked after. A current HCPC registration is essential.

You will be highly motivated to improving outcomes for children by working in partnership with social workers, their managers and others to monitor progress and quality assure practice in the best interests of children. Applicants will need in-depth knowledge of child care legislation and best practice in relation to safeguarding, managing risk and care planning. 

The abilities to influence, challenge effectively and constructively, are essential, alongside advanced skills in chairing meetings and analysing problems and situations. You will need excellent written and verbal communication skills and the interpersonal skills needed to relay sensitive and difficult information appropriately.
