Proposed future GB maximum residue levels (MRLs) amendment

Fenamiphos is no longer an approved active substance in GB and there are no PPP authorisations.

HSE has reviewed the MRLs and identified a number which do not result in consumer exposures exceeding the toxicological reference values and therefore harmful effects on human health are not expected.

It is proposed that these MRLs are retained in the GB MRL Statutory Register. The full range of commodities for which this applies is detailed in the draft reasoned opinion. The remaining MRLs are proposed to be lowered to the limit of quantification.

The proposed date of adoption and publication of the new MRLs is 14 November 2025 and the proposed date of entry into force of the new MRLs will be 6 months after the date of adoption and publication. Once the new MRLs enter into force they will be displayed in the GB MRL Statutory Register.

To meet the UK’s international trade obligations, the measures have been notified to the World Trade Organization.

On completion of this process, an update on the final MRLs agreed, along with the date of entry into force, will be communicated via HSE’s ebulletin service.

Visit HSE’s website for more information and guidance on the MRL processes for GB.
