Building Assessment Certificates: online resources
Our campaign website now includes information and useful resources for when PAPs are being asked to apply for Building Assessment Certificates (BACs).
The certificates, which you will be requested to apply for based on criteria listed on our campaign website, are evidence to your residents that their higher-risk building meets the highest safety standards.
Online resources include links to:
- information needed when making an application
- BSR’s Safety Case Toolkit
- videos explaining what a BAC is
- a video from a recent TPI event where we covered tips for submitting high-quality BAC applications

We have also updated our guidance to include more information on the keys areas for submitting a BAC application.

HSE support for Remediation Acceleration Plan
HSE, as the BSR, has welcomed and supported the government’s recent announcement of a Remediation Acceleration Plan.
Philip White, Chief Inspector of Buildings and Director of Building Safety, said: “We will work alongside government, other industry regulators, fire and rescue services, local government and Mayors, to help implement the plan to accelerate remediation in higher-risk buildings of 18 metres or more in England that still have unsafe flammable cladding.
“By placing a legal obligation on landlords to remove unsafe cladding, this plan will ultimately result in better-quality buildings, where residents are safe, and can feel safe, in their homes.”

Share your views - the new Building Safety Regime
We have commissioned an independent research agency, Verian, to understand the experiences of APs and those working on their behalf.
Participation is voluntary and a monetary incentive will be provided if you get involved in an interview.
We are interested in hearing from all types of organisations and individuals. Anything you say will be anonymous and BSR will not be informed of your personal details or your organisation's name unless you give Verian explicit consent.

BSR’s Residents’ Panel – help shape future building safety
BSR is recruiting to its Statutory Residents’ Panel, and we hope you can help spread the word. The panel gives residents of high-rise buildings the power to influence future decisions about the safety of their homes.
We’re looking for residents to join the existing panel so a diverse range of voices can be heard and supported by key organisations.
The panel will play a key role in shaping policies and guidance for building safety management. By taking part, your residents can contribute to decisions affecting the safety and well-being of millions of others.
