The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) is consulting on proposals to introduce an ATRm for UK REACH along with proposals to improve the current UK REACH regime inherited from the EU.
This public consultation outlines proposals to introduce the ATRm, which aims to reduce the estimated £2 billion costs the GB chemical industry might have faced under the transition from EU REACH to UK REACH.
Defra’s consultation also outlines UK REACH Improvement policy proposals, which are intended to increase regulatory efficiency and further support the principal of animal testing as a last resort.
Further information can be found on the Defra website.
The deadline for receiving comments is 11 July 2024.
