Providing Key building information to BSR
Thank you for signing up for information on registering high-rise residential buildings in England.
Last month we wrote to you to let you know we had published guidance on helping you prepare key building information (KBI).
This is a set of information that you need to know, assess and understand about your building, to properly manage the risks of fire spread or structural failure.
You are now able to enter KBI on the registration portal. You can do this at the same time you complete your application to register your building or it can be entered at a later date.
All registration applications and KBI must be completed on the portal by 1 October 2023.
Please use the following guidance to help you enter the required information:

Guidance on registering multiple structures
The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities has published guidance to help register buildings with complex structures.
If your building has two or more structures that are attached, you need to assess the 'independent section' criteria to see if they count as one building or should be registered separately.
Read the guidance on building definition and independent sections
