Effective process safety management (PSM) is of vital importance in major hazard industries such as oil and gas, chemicals, plastics and pharmaceuticals to prevent the catastrophic accidents and near misses associated with loss of containment of energy or dangerous substances.
Developed jointly by NEBOSH and HSE, the NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management is a four-day course followed by a formal assessment to give managers, supervisors and safety professionals working in high hazard industries a broad understanding of the accepted principles and recognised industrial practices for the management of process risk.
The knowledge gained from this qualification will allow you to recognise and contribute to the control of process safety hazards and make a real impact across your organisation.

The safe management of ageing assets is becoming an increasingly important issue as the UK's industrial base ages. This has been highlighted by HSE's inspection programmes of ageing plant both onshore and offshore.
From complex environments, such as chemical plants and offshore installations, to more conventional work equipment and machinery, organisations need to know that the assets they are responsible for are safe and that the right management systems are in place to keep them that way.
