GB MRL amendments (March 2022)

Maximum residue levels (MRLs) for pesticide residues in or on food and feed of plant and animal origin are established in Great Britain (GB) under Regulation (EC) No 396/2005.

GB MRLs are set by inclusion in a new Statutory Register.

This eBulletin is to notify all stakeholders of recent amendments to the GB MRL Statutory Register, setting new statutory levels.

In order to accommodate new authorisations in GB and to set import tolerances to meet the requirements of international trade, new MRLs have been set in the GB MRL Statutory Register for the following active/commodity combinations:

  • Fluxapyroxad/ Chinese cabbages

  • Oxathiapiprolin/ blueberries

The new MRLs came into force on 22 March 2022 as indicated in the GB MRL Statutory Register.

The evaluation report, reasoned opinion and decision document supporting these new MRLs are available on the HSE website.

Retained Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 on maximum residue levels of pesticides in or on food and feed of plant and animal origin (as it applies in Great Britain, pursuant to the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 and European Union (Withdrawal Agreement Act 2020). Great Britain (“GB”) refers to England, Scotland and Wales).
