Wednesday 18 May 2022 10.00am - 4.00pm
HSE’s Radiation Team will be holding a RPA Workshop at HSE, Redgrave Court in Bootle, Merseyside, from 10.00-16.00 on Wednesday 18 May 2022.
The purpose of this workshop is for the Radiation Team to present an overview of findings from radiation inspections in the past work year, highlight recent issues concerning occupational radiation protection and compliance with the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 and to discuss forthcoming changes to the authorisation processes. There will also be ample opportunity for RPAs to ask questions of the Radiation Team.
Spaces will be available on a first come first served basis and are limited to 70 attendees; we can only accept one delegate per organisation/employer.
If you wish to attend you should email your request to rad.admin@hse.gov.uk
Please note lunch will not be provided but information on lunch options available to delegates will be included with joining instructions.
An agenda and joining instructions will be issued prior to the meeting.
If you wish to submit any questions to the Radiation Team for discussion at the workshop you can do so using the email address above.
The Radiation Team look forward to welcoming you to this event.
Where schools use radioactive materials as part of their learning activities, they are required to comply with the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 (IRR17) and seek registration from HSE.
To ensure that the risks to workers and students from radiation are managed effectively, from April 2022 HSE’s radiation team will be carrying out inspections in schools who hold registration for this type of work to review compliance with IRR17.
