HSE specialists out and about this month

Kate Jeffrey speaking at an event

Speaking at industry events is one way that our specialists engage with the hydrogen safety community.

In November, Kate Jeffrey from HSE’s Centre for Energy and Major Hazards addressed the ‘Hydrogen Fuel Cells – The Time is Now’ conference. Speaking alongside organisations such as BEIS, Johnson Matthey and Innovate UK, Kate gave an overview of the international activity currently going into advancing hydrogen safety.

Stuart Hawksworth, who leads the Centre and is also the president of the International Association for Hydrogen Safety, IA HySafe, participated in a virtual workshop with the Society of Petroleum Engineers and spoke about the importance of having a sound evidence base for hydrogen safety.
