With fireworks season almost upon us, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) is encouraging all of us to enjoy fireworks in a safe way this autumn.
If you are planning to set off fireworks at home, please only buy them from registered sellers. Always look for a CE or UKCA mark to make sure they’re safe to use.
LFB recommends that you choose a public fireworks display to attend if possible. Why not head down to the Council's free Hounslow Lights event at Lampton Park on Saturday, 31 October? It's free and you don't need to book in advance. Anyone can head down from 4pm to 9pm to enjoy the show.
Hounslow Council will be hosting an event to mark Carers Rights Day at Hounslow House on Saturday, 21 November, from 10.30am to 3pm.
The theme of Carers Rights Day 2026 is the early identification of unpaid carers, encouraging individuals to recognise that they’re entitled to legal rights, benefits and support from Hounslow Carers Service.
Join Council teams including Hounslow Carers Service and Community Provisions, plus external guests including EHCVS, Shaw Trust and Speak Out Hounslow.

Since downloading the BetterPoints app, Cheryl from Feltham has completely transformed her lifestyle, going from a sedentary routine to embracing an active life filled with walking, running and hiking. Along the way, she’s lost four stone, gained confidence and discovered a passion for movement she never imagined possible.
She said: "At the start of this year, I could go days without purposeful exercise. Now, I actively look for ways to move more and regularly reach 10,000–12,000 steps a day.
"Most importantly, I’m more present as a mum and more willing to join in family adventures, creating memories rather than worrying about whether I can manage them physically."
If Cheryl's story has inspired you, download BetterPoints today to get active and earn rewards that can be redeemed for shopping vouchers.
