Foster with your council
Fourteen-year-old Alex* is a thoughtful and polite young person who is looking for a foster family where he can feel secure, supported and valued. He has a gentle nature and gets on well with people of all ages.
Over the past year, Alex has made positive progress. Since moving to a new school earlier this year, he has settled in well and his attendance has improved greatly.
Outside of the classroom, Alex has a range of interests that help showcase his creative and curious personality. He enjoys building Lego, playing board games and has recently developed an interest in football and swimming.
If you think you could be the person to help a child like Alex feel settled and supported, we'd love to hear from you.

Last chance to nominate a star
Do you know someone that goes above and beyond for their local community? The Council's annual One Hounslow Community Stars awards are open for nominations but closes soon!
They celebrate people, groups, organisations and businesses from across the borough. There are no set categories for nominations. However, there is a range of themes to help guide your nomination.
The most important thing is the positive impact people or groups have had on Hounslow and its communities.

Help us shape our Employment Drop-In Support Service, which returns to Holy Trinity Church, Hounslow, on Monday, 12 October from 1pm to 4pm.
The service is aimed at adults with disabilities or health conditions who are looking for work, struggling in their current job, or would like some guidance and confidence to take their next step. But how would you like us to help you? Let us know via Community.Provisions@hounslow.gov.uk.
The drop-in is run by the Community Provisions team, who work with Hounslow residents looking to explore support including job searching, applications, CVs, interview preparation, job retention strategies, reasonable adjustments and much more.
Further dates are scheduled on the second Monday of every month and the service is supported by the Employment Opportunities Service and Connect to Work programmes.
The proposed West London Orbital would bring a new London Overground service between Hounslow and Hendon, with connections to Elizabeth Line and future HS2 services at Old Oak Common. Some journeys could be more than 30 minutes quicker, making it easier to get to work, college, appointments or visit friends and family across West London.
TfL wants to know what you think. Have your say by Wednesday, 18 November 2026.
