Understanding Autism 2026
It was standing room only at the second annual Understanding Autism event at Hounslow House, with over 100 people registered for what proved a fascinating session. Centred around eight panellists talking through their lived experience, there were some fascinating conversations on public perceptions of autism, diagnosis and the energy required to mask neurodivergent conditions.
It was an event that conveyed the power of conversation, co-production, and shared experience.
Our Community Provisions team provides support for adults in Hounslow who are living with a learning disability or autism. It provides services aimed at connecting people with activities to help them overcome the barriers they face, offering opportunities for socialising, independent travel and employment.

Do you know someone that goes above and beyond for their local community? The Council's annual One Hounslow Community Stars awards are now open for nominations.
They celebrate people, groups, organisations and businesses from across the borough. There are no set categories for nominations. However, there is a range of themes to help guide your nomination.

Would you like longer library opening hours?
The Council is opening local community hub and libraries for longer, including during evenings and weekends.
The changes will increase the number of hours libraries will be open each week with the help of secure, self-access technology.
But first, the Council wants to know when you’d like extended opening hours, how you’d like to use your community hub and library, and what activities and services you’d like to see there.
