 Feltham Green has come to life with local food, live music, outdoor seating and people coming together in the heart of the town centre.

Woof woof - Hounslow recognised for excellence in animal welfare
Hounslow has once again been recognised by the RSPCA's prestigious PawPrints Awards, landing two Platinum prizes and a trio of Golds for delivering high standards of animal welfare.

Hounslow’s Animal Welfare team regularly deal with stray dogs, including Cali (pictured), a young Malinois crossbreed who was found earlier this year wandering alone in a public park. The team housed Cali in the Council’s kennel accommodation, before successfully rehoming her in a working environment.

Creative Mile and Eurydyka come to Hounslow
 From Friday, 4 September, Creative Mile is hosting Brentford’s free Art Trail, featuring more than 120 artists and makers in 30 venues, all exploring the theme of ‘Love’.
This three-day arts festival showcases unique local venues, Brentford's riverside setting and the creativity of local artists and makers. Join the event this evening from 6pm to 9pm, or on Saturday, 5 September and Sunday, 6 September from 11am to 5pm.
There is also an outdoor performance at Bell Square on Hounslow High Street on Saturday, 5 September from 8pm to 9pm. Presented by Watermans, Polish outdoor theatre company Teatr Biuro Podróży brings Eurydyka, a show based on the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice.
New wellbeing space for young people
A new wellbeing hub designed to support the mental health of young people across Hounslow will open its doors at Beavers Community Hub, Cranford on Friday, 11 September for an opening event from 3pm to 9pm.
Activities will include sports-based sessions such as table tennis and football challenges, as well as interactive activities, including creating your own wellbeing resource plan to help you identify the people, places and activities that support your mental health.
The launch follows extensive engagement and co-production with young people across the borough. Over 100 young people across six secondary schools have contributed directly to the design and delivery of Think Well through group activities.

Employment support for people with disabilities
 Thinking about work but not sure where to start? Employment support drop-in sessions for people with disabilities are a friendly space where you can talk things through with employment specialists and get help, without an appointment.
Whether you are currently looking for work, already in employment, thinking about changing direction, or simply want to explore your options, please come and have a chat with the Council's Community Provisions team and employment partners, the Shaw Trust.
Sessions are held at Holy Trinity Church, 6 High Street, Hounslow, TW3 1HG on the second Monday of every month from 1pm to 4pm. The next drop-in is on Monday, 14 September.
The team would also like to hear what you think about the service and how they can make the drop-ins more useful and relevant. Your ideas could help decide what topics to cover, what support to provide and how to make the sessions work better for you.

 Across Britain, one in five children and one in seven adults currently lack the digital access they need to get on in life. To help improve access for residents, the Council is working with PayByPhone and the Digital Poverty Alliance to support a device donation initiative. If you have an old tablet, smartphone or laptop gathering dust in a drawer, it’s time to give it a second life.
Why your donation matters:
- Your old phone or laptop could change a neighbour's life
- Each device will be refurbished and given directly to a local resident who needs it most
- It is completely secure and straightforward
- Devices will be securely wiped of all data, fully refurbished and then handed directly to residents who need them most
- Donating gives tech a second life, keeping electronic waste out of landfill
SEND advice in Bedfont
 Find the right support for your child or young person with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Come and talk to us in person at one of our monthly SEND drop-in sessions, where you can speak to a professional face-to-face for advice and support. The next session takes place at Bedfont Community Centre, Bedfont Lane, TW14 9NB on Monday,14 September from 10am to 12pm.
Feltham Green Cabin has been shortlisted in the Culture - Built category at the New London Architecture (NLA) Awards 2026. The project has transformed a previously underused area into a vibrant community space, bringing together the net zero Eco-Cabin and the Freddie Mercury Memorial Garden to create a new hub for local activities and events.
980 Great West Road in Brentford, brought forward by Hadley Property Group, has also been shortlisted in the Neighbourhoods and Masterplans – Unbuilt category. The £1 billion masterplan will create around 2,300 homes alongside new public spaces and routes, while retaining and reusing significant parts of the former GSK building.
Both projects are also in the running for the People’s Choice Award.

Event celebrating addiction recovery
Addiction Recovery Community (ARC) Hounslow will be hosting a Recovery Open Day from 12pm to 4pm on Friday, 18 September. It promises to be an inspiring afternoon focused on hope, community and recovery.
This year's theme is the power of heart, brain and courage through creative activities, live performances and the opportunity to connect with local community groups.

Join us to kick off Black History Month
 The Council is hosting a free event at Hounslow House on Thursday, 1 October to celebrate Black History Month. It’s a great chance to come together and recognise the fantastic contributions and achievements of Black communities across our borough.
Guest speaker for the event is Rodgers Orero from the Riana Development Network, a local charity that has been supporting individuals and families for more than two decades.
Rodgers will share inspiring stories about how community action is transforming lives right here in Hounslow.
Join us to celebrate our shared history and help build a stronger, more inclusive future for all.
 Children in Hounslow who are currently in Year 6 and were born between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2016 will transfer to secondary school in September 2027. The closing date to apply is Saturday, 31 October 2026.
