Protect parks and open spaces from wildfire
Dry weather is increasing the number of wildfire incidents across London, presenting a risk to life and property. There is concern that some recent fires in local parks and open spaces may have been started deliberately.
The Council's enforcement team has increased park patrols in high-risk areas. Please remain vigilant and, if you see a dangerous fire, move to a place of safety and call 999 immediately.
A reminder that barbecues are not permitted in parks and open spaces. Cigarettes and glass bottles should also be disposed of safely.

Keep young people safe around water
Sadly this week has seen another teenager die in London after drowning in open water. As young people are currently enjoying their hot summer holidays, and with two exam results days coming up, the temptation of open water may prove hard to resist.
If you have teenage children, please ensure they are aware of the risks of swimming in lakes and rivers. Please also pass on information on what to do if they or one of their friends gets in trouble around water.
The Canal and River Trust has put together useful advice for children of secondary school age.
Hounslow Wellbeing Network events
Hounslow Wellbeing Network has a wide range of events throughout August where residents can learn a new skill, meet people or just relax.
They're all designed to improve your wellbeing in some way. From Zumba and chair yoga to coffee mornings and language classes, everyone will find something that suits their needs and tastes.
Find out your blood type and register as a donor
NHS Blood and Transplant will be in Hounslow House Community Hub, on the ground floor of Hounslow House, from 10am to 3pm on Thursday, 13 August.
You can pop in and speak to the team to find out what blood type you are, register to become a blood donor, book an appointment for blood donation, and learn about plasma and organ donation.
It’s important to know your blood type for your own health. It’s also vital for the NHS as they need donations of all types of blood to keep stocks high and save lives through transfusions.
There will also be a chance to chat with Health Outreach Team about your health and the Community Hub and Library team will be available to talk about services in Community Hubs and Libraries.
