 With drought declared for a large part of the country, including Hounslow, there are a few simple steps everyone can take to help tackle water shortages:
- Take shorter showers
- Turn off the taps while you brush your teeth
- Don’t water your plants when the sun’s out
- Swap your hose for a watering can

 Hounslow Wellbeing Network has a wide range of events throughout August where you can learn a new skill, meet people or just relax.
They're all designed to improve your wellbeing in some way. From Zumba and chair yoga to coffee mornings and language classes, everyone will find something that suits their needs and tastes.

Volunteering can improve your chances of finding paid work. It can also help people who are feeling isolated to meet new friends and build confidence.
On Monday, 10 August, you can join an online session at 10am to hear about current volunteering opportunities, including becoming a digital champion at the Council, volunteering in local parks and joining the Nature Buddies programme at Let’s Go Outside and Learn.
It's aimed at residents aged 18 and over who are not in education, employment or training. This includes A-level school leavers, people with special education needs and disabilities (SEND), care-experienced young people, refugees and asylum seekers.

Women's wellbeing group SHEWISE is hosting weekly yoga sessions at Convent Way Community Centre in August.
The free classes are on Thursdays from 10.30am to 11.30am. The last one will take place on Thursday, 20 August. You don't need to book in advance, just turn up on the day. Please bring your own yoga mat and water bottle.
