Cool spaces for the heatwave
 Temperatures are set to rise again from tomorrow and the new heatwave will be with us for the next week. There are now seven cool spaces across Hounslow where you can escape the heat for a while if you need to be out in the day.
There is a handy map where you can see all the cool space venues in London. You can also search for Hounslow if you just want to see what's available in our borough.
Please also remember all of the ways to stay well in the heat. Be safe around open water, equip yourself with the best advice and find safety advice for young children, paddling pools and hot tubs online.
Please continue to respect the rules about no barbeques in open spaces or on balconies to prevent fires.
Al fresco dining in Feltham
 Everyone will soon be able to enjoy a vibrant new outdoor food destination in Feltham. This is as a result of the Council securing funding through the Mayor of London’s Summer Streets programme.
The funding will support the launch of Feltham Green Street Eats, bringing independent food traders, outdoor seating and family-friendly activities to Feltham Green and creating a welcoming new destination for people to meet, eat and spend time together.
 Are you one of Hounslow’s 19,000 plus unpaid carers? Are you even aware that you fall into that category?
Come to the Carers Café at Coffee Republic on the ground floor of Hounslow House (turn left at entrance) on Thursday, 16 July from 1pm to 3pm. Connect with fellow carers, relax, enjoy board games and share experiences.
Each carer and cared for person will also be treated to a free hot or cold drink.
You may hear from the Council about the electoral register.
This is just a check to make sure everyone in Hounslow can vote in future elections.

 The Council recently celebrated the completion of major improvement works at Emanuel Hollow, Dukes Meadows, transforming one of the borough’s valued riverside green spaces.
The project was brought about by a tremendous community partnership, with many local people and organisations getting involved.
At the heart of the works is a Girder Sculpture, made from three historic steel girders removed from Barnes Bridge and donated by GBR South Western.
 Finding the right support for your child or young person with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) doesn't have to be an overwhelming prospect.
In addition to the Local Offer website you can also come and talk to the team in person at monthly SEND drop-in sessions where you can speak to a professional face-to-face for advice and support. These are the upcoming dates:
- Monday, 13 July, 10am to 12pm, Meadowbank Community Hub and Library (Cranford) - TW5 9QX
- Wednesday, 26 August, 12:30pm to 2:30pm, Brentford Family Hub - TW8 0BJ
These sessions have team members from the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) team, Therapies, School travel assistance and the Special Educational Needs, and Disability Information Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS).

'Journeys' global textiles from the Karun Thakar collection
 Visit a vivid display formed from a collaboration between Trinjan, a local women’s social and community group and Karun Thakar, the collector and source of the textiles. The National Trust is hosting this important exhibition at Osterley Park and House.
This exhibition, named 'Journeys', includes Punjabi wedding shawls, baghs and phulkaris from Karun Thakar’s renowned global textile collection.
Entry is included with standard admission to Osterley Park and House, Wednesday to Sunday, 11am-3.30pm.
 If you’re more than 10 weeks pregnant, or you have children under four and receive certain benefits, you could be eligible for NHS Healthy Start. It helps families on low incomes to buy healthy food and milk.
Once on the scheme, you’ll receive a prepaid card that you can use to buy fruit, vegetables, pulses, milk and infant formula. You can also get free Healthy Start vitamins.

Kempton Nature Reserve
 Don’t miss a rare opportunity to explore Kempton Nature Reserve from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, 18 July. Experience the incredible wildlife right on your doorstep. Usually closed to the public, this hidden gem will open for one day only, free and exclusively for Hounslow residents.
Join us for a range of family friendly activities led by our partners, including a nature scavenger hunt, bird spotting, pond dipping, beautiful views and refreshments.
