It will continue to be hot for the rest of the week. While this can be a welcome opportunity to get outdoors, we should all be careful to enjoy the weather responsibly.
Warm weather can impact vulnerable groups, including older people and those with underlying health conditions. Please protect yourself and others from the potential risks of extreme weather.
Please stay away from open water. It might be tempting, but it's not safe. Even in a heatwave the water in lakes and rivers can be dangerously cold, so even strong swimmers can get into trouble. Stay cool and safe indoors or in designated swimming spots.
People sleeping rough can also suffer severe consequences during hot weather due to the lack of shelter and access to water. If you're worried about someone you see, please contact the Streetlink team who can offer support.
