Your Hounslow High Street Post Office has reopened

The Post Office has officially reopened at 173 High Street, Hounslow, restoring a much‑missed service for residents and local businesses.
Yesterday (Thursday, 26 February), Leader of the Council, Cllr Shantanu Rajawat, visited the branch on opening day. He met with the new Postmaster - an experienced operator who runs three other branches and has brought skilled staff with him to support service delivery from day one - along with representatives from the Post Office. He also thanked Ruth Cadbury MP (Brentford & Isleworth) for her support in helping bring the service back to the High Street.
During the visit, the Leader thanked partners for securing the new site and reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to protecting vital services and supporting thriving high streets.
The branch officially opened its doors at 1pm on Thursday and is now operating extended opening hours to give residents more flexibility:
- 9am - 7pm, Monday to Friday
- 9am - 5pm, weekends

New monthly SEND drop-in sessions confirmed
 Find the right support for your child or young person with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
It doesn't have to be an overwhelming prospect, as in addition to our Local Offer website you can also come and talk to us in person at our monthly SEND drop-in sessions where you can speak to a professional face-to-face for advice, guidance, and support.
Join us at the following dates in Heston and Hounslow Central:

Tuesday, 17 March - Heston Community Hub and Library - 3pm-5pm

Tuesday, 21 April - Lampton Family Hub - 10am-12pm
These sessions have team members from: Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), Therapies, School travel assistance, Special Educational Needs and Disability Information Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS).
The aim is to reach as many people in the borough as possible. You can drop in to any of the surgery sessions without a booking.
Health Outreach Team with free MMR vaccinations - new dates
 Hounslow's Health Outreach Team (HOT) will be out in the coming weeks offering free blood pressure checks, BMI weight checks and balance checks.
On selected dates the team will be joined by Vaccination UK, who will be offering catch-up doses of the MMR vaccine for children up to 16 years old.
The MMR will be available on the following dates:
- Friday, 6 March - Brentford Library - 10am to 2pm
- Sunday, 8 March - Ghanaian Community Event, St Francis of Assisi Church, Isleworth - 2pm to 4pm
The team can also give advice on concerns such as diabetes, high blood pressure, smoking, mental health and much more.

Free construction training for young people
 On Wednesday, 4 March, construction company The Hill Group will deliver a face-to face insight session at Hounslow Community Hub and Library. Sessions will run for 30 minutes between 3pm and 4.30pm. Come along to learn about the sector and explore the free training on offer.
In addition, Work Hounslow is offering an exciting training and skills pathway programme for young people aged 16 to 24, starting in April. The programme is designed for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and those who have been in care.
Cooking for healthy menopause
Join Learn Hounslow for a workshop on cooking for healthy menopause at Meadowbank Community Hub and Library in Cranford on Friday, 6 March.
The special course for International Women's Day will run from 10am until 2.30pm.

 Hounslow Best Start Family Hubs have launched their Annual Family Hub survey. Your input is invaluable to help shape the services offered to families across Hounslow. Everyone who completes the survey will be entered into a prize draw with a chance to win a £100 voucher.
