Household Notification Letter
Ahead of the local elections taking place in May, household notification letters have been sent to all properties in Hounslow. These letters help you check that everyone who is eligible to vote in your household has registered.
If any details on the letter are incorrect, you can update your records online using the website and unique security codes in your letter.
This communication also includes key dates leading up to the election, information on applying for a postal vote, and a reminder that you must bring photo ID when voting in person at a polling station.
If you have any questions, please contact us at elections@hounslow.gov.uk or by calling 020 8583 2828.

Ask the family
We are reviewing how we work with children and families to ensure that the right support is available at the right time, and as early as possible.
The Council is particularly keen to hear from anyone who has experience of engaging with Children’s Services in Hounslow, including:
- Being linked to a social worker or qualified worker
- Early Help Adolescent Support and Prevention Team (ASaP), formerly Adolescent Support Team
- Early Help for children with disabilities
- Family Group Conferencing
Residents who feed back will help the Council understand what is working well, identify where improvements can be made, and ensure that services are designed around the real needs of families.
Join a resident workshop
The Council is developing a new Climate Change Resilience Plan, and is inviting residents to add their insight at a public co‑design workshop on Thursday, 29 January from 6-8pm at Hounslow House.
The session will explore climate risks, from flooding and heatwaves to storms and wildfires, and identify practical measures to strengthen community preparedness, infrastructure, green spaces and local services.
Your experiences and insights will help our borough adapt to the challenges of a changing climate.

Taking the lead on responsible dog ownership
The Council is launching a campaign to help dog owners understand what’s expected of them when out with their pets. This will mean our parks, pavements and green spaces stay clean, safe and welcoming for all.
New dog control rules are now in force across parts of the borough, following feedback from residents. The rules are being introduced alongside a borough-wide campaign called 'Take the Lead', which supports responsible ownership.
The key rules include:
- cleaning up after your dog straight away and disposing of waste correctly
- carrying bags or a scoop when out walking
- keeping dogs on a lead where signs or council officers ask you to
- staying out of dog exclusion areas such as playgrounds, sports areas and remembrance gardens
- walking no more than four dogs per person
Failure to follow the rules could result in a £100 on-the-spot fine.
