If you're aged between 50 and 74 and registered with a GP you should receive a bowel cancer screening kit every two years.
You can take the test at home and send it in by post. It's quick, easy and could save your life.
If you think you're eligible for bowel cancer screening but you've not had your test kit, call the bowel cancer screening helpline on 0800 707 6060.

London's Great Mental Health Day is back on Friday, 30 January. It's a great chance to learn more about local initiatives and support services that are available in Hounslow.
Great Mental Health Day is a London-wide awareness day that helps Londoners to talk about mental health, creates a platform to highlight the great support available, and takes the stigma out of asking for help when needed.
This year's theme focuses on the support networks that don't look like services, like local libraries and community hubs. It’s a reminder that the everyday spaces are not just 'nice to have', they are essential sanctuaries.

This Thursday (22 January) is Clean Air Night, which is an event to help spark a conversation about the health harms of air pollution from wood burning.
Wood burning is the most polluting way to heat your home, contributing to serious health conditions for people across the UK and cutting lives short.
New research shows that if we stopped burning wood where another heat source is available, we could avoid more than 1,500 premature deaths in the UK each year and save the NHS over £54 million in healthcare costs.
Clean Air Night is an opportunity to learn the facts about wood burning and share what you’ve learned with your friends, family and community to ensure everyone can make informed decisions about how to heat their homes.

The NHS is looking for new blood donors and for existing donors to make new appointments. The colder months can be particularly challenging for blood stocks and it's important to have blood available for both regular and emergency procedures.
It is particularly looking for black donors to give blood that can be used to treat patients with sickle cell, who can face an increased risk of crisis and complications in cold weather.
It's quick and easy to register and you can make an appointment near you in minutes.
