Community groups bolstered by funding
Hounslow Council has awarded nearly £300,000 to 14 local community groups and charities as part of its Thriving Communities Funding programme, which provides thousands of pounds to local charities, community initiatives and infrastructure projects each year. Over 3,500 local people are estimated to benefit from the funding, which will support residents with their health and wellbeing.
Rogue landlord fined £81k for bed in shed
Think you can rent out illegal, unsafe buildings? Think again.
Rajinder Singh Pander, of Windsor, Berkshire, has been fined a total of £81,043.88 following sentencing at Isleworth Crown Court on 23 December 2025.
The outbuilding, at 16 Worthing Road, Hounslow, failed to meet basic planning, housing and residential standards and was wholly unsuitable for people to live in. Occupants were forced to endure cramped and substandard living conditions, giving rise to serious concerns about their health and wellbeing.

Come and question the cabinet
Come together with other local people and ask the Council's cabinet members a question that could spark an improvement in your neighbourhood.
You can submit your question in advance or make a contribution from the floor on the evening. It's free to attend but please register ahead of the event to confirm your attendance.
Ask the family
We are reviewing how we work with children and families to ensure that the right support is available at the right time, and as early as possible.
The Council is particularly keen to hear from anyone who has experience of engaging with Children’s Services in Hounslow, including:
- Being linked to a social worker or alternatively, qualified worker
- Early Help Adolescent Support and Prevention Team (ASaP), formerly Adolescent Support Team
- Early Help for children with disabilities
- Family Group Conferencing
Residents who feedback will help the Council understand what is working well, identify where improvements can be made, and ensure that services are designed around the real needs of families.

Only flush the 'Three P's'!
Thames Water is urging Hounslow residents to help prevent sewer blockages by keeping the wrong things out of our pipes. Most blockages are caused by wipes, fats, oils and grease being flushed or poured away — leading to flooding, pollution and costly repairs.
How you can help:
- Only flush the 3 Ps: pee, poo and (toilet) paper
- Put wipes, cotton pads and sanitary products in the bin
- Let fats and oils cool, then scrape them into the bin
Small changes at home make a big difference to Hounslow’s sewers and waterways.
