Imagining Hounslow’s future together
Hounslow’s Vision 2050 Huddle is a six-month process that brings together 12 people with different life experiences and backgrounds to explore key issues facing society. And it's now in full swing.
Through discussion and activities, the group has created a vision of a borough in the year 2050 where people are cared for, fulfilled, active and creative at every stage of life.
Part of Hounslow’s Vision 2050 project, this innovative and long-term approach will help the Council to shape policy over the next 25 years by putting residents front and centre.
You can join a free Vision 2050 launch event on Monday, 8 December from 6.30pm to 8pm at Hounslow House.

Stay safe from the latest parking scam
The Council has received reports of individuals impersonating Civil Enforcement Officers (previously known as parking attendants) in the borough.
Genuine Civil Enforcement Officers will always be wearing official uniforms, carrying valid ID and will never ask you to make a payment. If something doesn’t seem right, please walk away and report it to the police.
Stay safe and help us spread the word.
Hounslow unites to end Violence Against Women and Girls
The Council recently marked White Ribbon Day, the international day for the eradication of violence against women and girls, and kickstarted 16 Days of Activism, a global campaign to raise awareness of issues like domestic abuse, stalking, digital abuse and harassment.
Teams have been hosting drop-ins at locations across the borough including West Middlesex Hospital and local schools.
If you or someone you know is experiencing gender-based abuse, help is available from the One Stop Shop, held every Wednesday at Holy Trinity Church from 10am-12pm.
You can also speak to the team on 07810 031 780 (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm). In an emergency, always dial 999.
As Christmas approaches, Hounslow residents are reminded of changes to rubbish and recycling services over the festive season.
Collection crews will be working hard to keep the borough clean and tidy, while also taking four well-earned days off. To ensure everyone’s waste is collected, temporary changes to bin day schedules will operate across the Christmas and new year period.
As the festive shopping season gets into full swing, the Council is urging residents to stay vigilant when buying gifts to protect them and their loved ones from serious harm.
Fake goods, or ‘dupes’ for viral products like Labubu dolls may seem like a harmless, budget-friendly alternative to the real thing. But they frequently fail basic safety checks and come with risks including toxic chemicals, choking hazards from loose, small parts, and inferior quality. This can lead to exposed sharp edges or dangerous components.
If you suspect you’ve purchased counterfeit goods, report it to Citizens Advice by calling 0808 223 1133 or visiting their website.

Last Friday’s annual Fostering Awards included a tribute to Bhinda Bhomra, who has been a foster carer for Hounslow since April 1992.
Over three decades, Bhinda has cared for more than 45 children. She's offered calm, gentle, and nurturing support while developing a positive reputation for her remarkable resilience, quiet strength and a commitment to learning.
Her warmth and stability have brought comfort, healing, and a sense of belonging to so many young lives in our borough. Enjoy your retirement Bhinda.
The Council's Safer Communities and Transport teams recently joined forces with neighbourhood police officers on Bedfont High Street to speak with local residents, businesses and passers-by.
They listened to residents' feedback and concerns about their local area. They also shared information and advice on everything from personal and e-bike safety to parking and staying safe on the roads.
Free bike checks and repairs were on hand from Dr Bike, helping residents get around safely on two wheels.
Children do not build up natural immunity to flu and the viruses change every season, which is why children need a vaccination each year. The nasal spray vaccination is the safe and effective way to ensure they have the protection they need.
Vaccination doesn’t just protect your child - it helps keep the whole community safe. By being vaccinated, children are less likely to pass flu on to those who can become seriously ill from the virus.
