As part of Cycle to School Week (13-17 October), Cllr Katherine Dunne, Cabinet Member for Climate, Environment and Transport, joined students at Norwood Green Junior School for their Bikeability training.
The session began in the playground before moving onto the road, where students showed great confidence and skill.

Join the Community Provisions team and guests for an event aimed at adults who are autistic, have ADHD, dyslexia or other types of neurodivergence. Hear important stories of lived experience in the workplace, talk to employers and meet local people at the Mentor Marketplace.

Hounslow Youth Council needs you
The Hounslow Youth Council (HYC) is calling on enthusiastic young people aged 13-18, or up to 25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), to join and help shape a brighter future across the borough.
HYC offers a fun and engaging platform where young people can collaborate and deliver impactful projects, workshops, and events.
In recent years this has included a specific report that contributed towards shaping the borough’s response to knife crime and community safety.
This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your skills, while engaging with the local community to make a positive impact.
Apply before Friday, 31 October - contact Chloe Regis at Chloe.Regis@Hounslow.gov.uk or Chelsea Mason at Chelsea.Mason@Hounslow.gov.uk.
Safeguarding adults event
Join us for a marketplace event on everyday safeguarding with stalls offering residents advice and guidance from local services.
This year’s theme is Prevention – Act before abuse, a key facet of adult safeguarding.
A community allotment with a difference
Based at Heron Way Allotment, Health Means Wealth runs a number of community-focused initiatives in its haven of flowers, plants and vegetables patches. From weekly sessions for older people in the area to gardening activities for young people with autism, this group is using its green space to support the local community.
Earlier in the year, the Council awarded £30,000 to the community group to help make the allotment accessible for its users. Click here to find out more about the community initiatives they run.
