Free advice for SEND families
There are three up-and-coming opportunities to get advice, guidance, and support for families with children and young people aged 0-25 who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
On Wednesday, 15 October from 10am - 12pm, the team will be at Heston Farm Community Centre, 51 Biscoe Close, Heston, TW5 0UZ. Then on Wednesday, 5 November they will visit Feltham Library from 11.30am - 1.30pm, while the final date of the year is at the Lampton Family Hub on Friday, 12 December from 10am until 12pm.
The Hounslow Youth Council (HYC) is calling on enthusiastic young people aged 13-18 or up to 25 with SEND to join and help shape a brighter future across the borough.
HYC offers a fun and engaging platform where young people can collaborate and deliver impactful projects, workshops, and events.
In recent years this has included a specific report that contributed towards shaping the borough’s response to knife crime and community safety.
This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your skills, while engaging with the local community to make a positive impact.

Cleaner, greener collections are here
The Council’s refuse collection vehicles are now powered by a new low-emission fuel. Hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) is a renewable alternative that significantly reduces emissions and supports a cleaner, greener Hounslow. Watch this video with Cllr Shivraj Grewal and Cllr Katherine Dunne to see the new fleet in action.
Shape the future of schools in Hounslow
Hounslow Council is inviting parents, carers, school staff and residents to help shape the future of education in the borough.
With a shift in pupil numbers across the capital impacting on schools funding, Hounslow Council has launched a consultation seeking feedback to inform a new School Organisation Plan, which will outline management of school places and educational planning.
