The Hounslow Youth Council (HYC) is calling on enthusiastic young people aged 13-18 or up to 25 with SEND to join and help shape a brighter future across the borough.
HYC offers a fun and engaging platform where young people can collaborate and deliver impactful projects, workshops, and events.
In recent years this has included a specific report that contributed towards shaping the borough’s response to knife crime and community safety.
This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your skills, while engaging with the local community to make a positive impact.

Recycle Week 2025
Did you know the average person throws away £250 worth of food every year? That’s £1,000 for a family of four. Imagine what else that money could buy.
Buy only what you need. Plan meals. Get creative with leftovers.
Let’s reduce waste together, Hounslow.
Participate in the all-age autism strategy
Hounslow has launched an All-Age Autism strategy. The five-year plan is being overseen by an Autism Partnership Board and involves seven sub-groups concerned with various priorities for the community.
The plan will be co-produced with autistic people and their carers plus partner agencies, seeking to:
- Improve understanding and acceptance of autism within society
- Improve autistic children and young people’s access to education, and support positive transitions into adulthood
- Support more autistic people into employment
- Tackle health and care inequalities for autistic people
- Build the right support in the community and support people in inpatient care
- Improve support within the criminal and youth justice systems
- Improve housing
