The SEN Inclusion Funding process has changed for Early Years Providers from September 2025. Notional Funding has been introduced to support providers in continuing to develop their Ordinarily Available Provision to meet the needs of all children. The SEN Inclusion Funding training sessions identified will discuss how this Notional Funding could be spent, as well as providing information on the new processes for applying for SEN Inclusion Funding. Please try and access one of the sessions to develop your knowledge on the new systems, ready for any applications you make moving forward. If you are unable to attend the session for your Cluster, please let us know and an alternative arrangement can be made. All information has been emailed to settings and Foundation Stage Leads.
Alongside the SEN Inclusion Funding Training Sessions, the Cluster Leads identified for each locality will be hosting a SEND Helpline prior to the submission deadlines for each SEN IF panel in Autumn 2025. This will allow Providers direct contact via MS Teams, telephone, or a face-to-face meeting to discuss the process and completing the application.
The SEND Helpline can also be used to discuss Ordinarily Available Provision within your settings and how you can use your Notional Funding to assist with the development of this. This could be with resources or development of visual aids to assist your new cohort this academic year. Further to this, the helpline also allows an opportunity to discuss interventions and strategies that you may be implementing and troubleshoot any difficulties that arise or how to progress to the next intervention if appropriate. Please contact your Cluster Lead if you require an appointment on the identified days. We look forward to continuing to work with you on this new process.
