Brentford playground gets an upgrade
 This summer, the Council and Lampton Greenspace installed a brand-new playground at Robin Grove Recreation Ground in Brentford, offering a variety of facilities for local residents and park users.
Located along the Grand Union Canal in Brentford, the refurbishment is part of the Council’s wider transformation of the area. Seating has also been installed to complement the facilities and provide riverside viewing.
Adult Education shines in London Learner Survey
 The latest London Learner Survey, commissioned by the Mayor of London, measures the impact of adult education on learners’ economic and social outcomes. The most recent results highlighted Hounslow’s achievements.
The survey revealed that Hounslow learners significantly outperformed in key areas. Half of learners reported progression in their current jobs compared to 38%, whilst 24% experienced an increased income compared to 18% across London.
The results also demonstrated the social impact of Learn Hounslow, which supports 2,000 learners annually, with 98% reporting increased confidence, wellbeing and social connections.
New partnership unlocks Feltham’s future
 The Council, the Ministry of Defence (MOD), and the Greater London Authority (GLA) have announced their intention to work together to deliver one of west London’s most ambitious regeneration projects on MOD land in Feltham.
As the centrepiece of Hounslow Council’s Future Feltham masterplan, this site will transform the town centre, breathing new life into the area and delivering a significant number of new homes, jobs and community facilities.
It marks a once-in-a-generation opportunity to unlock Hounslow’s largest brownfield site and accelerate Feltham’s wider regeneration.
Roadshow on dangers of illegal tobacco
 The Council is bringing together local experts to inform residents about the dangers of illegal tobacco and vapes. The Tobacco Awareness Roadshow will run on Monday, 22 September at Bell Square off Hounslow High Street and Tuesday, 23 September at Feltham duck pond from 11am to 4pm.
Residents can also meet the Council’s stop smoking service, the Health Outreach Team and Addiction Recovery Community (ARC) Hounslow. They will be available to offer support for people who want to quit smoking and answer questions on wider health and addiction.
New Community Hub and Library for Cranford
 The new Meadowbank Community Hub and Library is being prepared. Set to serve as a community hub, adult education centre and library, it will bring services together to help local people.
Residents can benefit from the new facility, located less than 500 metres from the old library, which is moving to the hub. To enable the move, Cranford Library will be temporarily unavailable from Monday, 22 September, while books and equipment is transported to the new facility.
M4/A4 works progress update
Since July, Connect Plus Services, on behalf of National Highways, has refurbished pillars east of Windmill Road.
The A4 between Boston Manor Road and Ealing Road will remain closed overnight (10pm - 5am) until Friday, 19 September.
From Saturday, 20 September to Saturday, 29 November, the following will be closed 24 hours a day:
- Lane 3 (both ways) on the A4 between Boston Road and Ealing Road
- Windmill Road crossing over A4
- A4 pedestrian crossing on the west of Windmill Road

Hounslow Green Investment reaches major milestone
 Earlier this year, the Council launched the first-ever Hounslow Green Investment, an initiative that allows residents to invest from as little as £5 in community projects to making the borough a greener, cleaner place to live while earning a financial return.
Having reached the target of £1 million for the first round, the Council will start to use these funds to support a wide range of projects including energy efficiency upgrades for community buildings and development of active travel infrastructure.

Celebrate 60 years of Hounslow with free exhibition
 2025 marks 60 years of the London Borough of Hounslow. This autumn, the Council is hosting a free exhibition for residents to enjoy.
Launched at Hounslow Library on Monday, 15 September, the exhibition will showcase what the borough looked like in the 1960s.
Participate in the all-age autism strategy
 Hounslow has launched an All-Age Autism strategy. The five-year plan is being overseen by an Autism Partnership Board and involves seven sub-groups concerned with various priorities for the community.
The plan will be co-produced with autistic people and their carers plus partner agencies, seeking to:
- Improve understanding and acceptance of autism within society
- Improve autistic children and young people’s access to education, and support positive transitions into adulthood
- Support more autistic people into employment
- Tackle health and care inequalities for autistic people
- Build the right support in the community and support people in inpatient care
- Improve support within the criminal and youth justice systems
- Improve housing

Hounslow launches Advance for Growth 2025
 The Council, in partnership with JCDecaux UK and West London Chambers of Commerce, has launched the 2025 Advance for Growth competition.
The initiative offers one small business a unique opportunity to raise their profile and grow through a year‑long package of digital advertising, mentoring and networking.
The 2025 winner will benefit from a full year of premium digital Out‑of‑Home advertising.
