Health in the Park now at Isleworth Leisure Centre
 Health in the Park is taking place tomorrow (Saturday, 13 September) and will now be held at Isleworth Leisure Centre and Library. This is due to strong winds forecast on the day.
But don't worry, there will still be a great range of family-friendly activities available to entertain and inform.

Celebrate Brentford at Sunday's Community Shindig
This Sunday, from 11am until 3pm, join us at Brentford's Sunday Social Community Day for a vibrant celebration of local life. There will be community groups showcasing their work and offering opportunities to connect, volunteer, and get involved.
Enjoy live performances from the Polish Klan dance troupe and the Speak Out in Hounslow Choir, plus a delicious selection of food from street traders.
This free event highlights the incredible work happening across Brentford from arts and heritage to health, wellbeing, education and sport.
The event is supported by The National Lottery Community Fund, Mayor of London’s Community Weekend, and LBH’s Community Development Network.

New locations for women's wellbeing hub
Women's health charity Shewise is expanding its wellbeing hub to multiple locations across the borough, having seen good attendance at Feltham Library and Convent Way Community Centre venues this year.
You can now access hubs throughout the week at the following locations. Please note these will only run during term times:
- Tuesday, 10am - 12pm: Beavers Library, 103 Salisbury Road,TW4 7NW
- Wednesday, 10am - 12pm: Holy Trinity Church, Hounslow High St,TW3 1HG
- Thursday, 10am - 12pm: Convent Way Community Centre, UB2 5UG
- Friday, 10am - 12pm: Holy Trinity Church, Hounslow High St,TW3 1HG

Double dose of Health Employment Opportunities
 Are you a care leaver or an adult with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) looking for work?
If you’re a care leaver interested in a career in the NHS or the healthcare sector, join Work Hounslow’s first session on Thursday, 18 September from 3pm - 4pm in a double bill of face-to-face sessions to access local employment support.
Adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities are encouraged to join Work Hounslow’s second face-to-face session of the afternoon from 4pm - 5pm.
Attendees will learn about current job opportunities and an upcoming assessment day in October, hosted by North West London Health and Social Care Skills Academy. You’ll also find out about Work Hounslow’s targeted support for unemployed residents.
Both sessions will take place on Thursday, 18 September at classrooms adjacent to Hounslow Library, Hounslow House, TW3 3EB. Book your sessions via the respective weblink:

School Admissions Now Open
 Primary and secondary schools in Hounslow are now accepting applications from families with children starting primary school in reception or transferring to secondary school in September 2026. Applications for children moving into year 3 are also open.
Children in Hounslow who are currently in Year 6 and were born between 1 September 2014 and 31 August 2015, will need to apply for a secondary school. The closing date for secondary school admissions is Friday, 31 October 2025.

Open House across Hounslow tomorrow
 Ever walked past a high wall and wondered what was on the other side? Or what the view would be like from a new high rise? Or what an historic building looks like from the inside?
Now is your chance to find out, as Open House is coming to Hounslow tomorrow, until Sunday, 21 Sept. There are a wonderful range of buildings and spaces to explore for free, including Boston Manor House, Chiswick Town Hall, Hogarth's House and lesser known buildings like Isleworth Public Hall and Chiswick's New Fauconberg Cottage (pictured).
This two-week long celebration of London’s architecture and neighbourhoods also includes walking tours of Brentford and Isleworth, and many other places often not always open to the public.

Council to host Black History Month event
Residents across Hounslow are invited to attend a Black History Month event at Hounslow House on Friday, 3 October.
The free event includes talks on famous black Chiswick residents and how communities helped to shape post-war Britain. It's a free event but please book your place in advance.

Improvements to SEND provision and website
 Work with NHS professionals, Council staff, parents and carers to help develop the health section on the Local Offer website, which has information on services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Join a Teams call from 11am to 12pm on Wednesday, 17 September to help make sure the information is clear, useful and includes all the health services available in Hounslow.

Grants for non-profits to tackle inequality
 Applications for the Revenue Fund 2025 will close on Monday, 15 September. The fund awards grants of up to £30,000 for non-profits to reduce inequality in the borough.
The fund will be focusing on two outcomes: improving health and wellbeing and improving household resilience.
