Free support for Hounslow's carers
 Even if you don’t consider yourself a carer, and you look after a family member, a friend or a neighbour full-time or for a few hours now and again, the new Hounslow Carers Service provides information, advice, and practical support in convenient locations across the borough.
Join us on on Tuesday, 19 August from 11am - 1pm at Café S&N, Brentford High Street, or at the following Community Hubs from 10am - 2pm:
- Wednesday 20 August at Beavers Library
- Thursday 21 August at Feltham Library
- Friday 22nd August at Brentford Library

Live in Cranford? It's by-election time!
People across Cranford are heading to their polling stations on Thursday, 21 August from 7am until 10pm.
Voters must bring photo ID to their polling station. Accepted forms include passport, driving license, Blue Badge and Older Person's bus pass. Voters can still use approved photo ID if it has expired, so long as the photo still looks like them.
You can vote without your poll card, but bring it along if you can, because it does speed things along. For more information about the by-elections, click below.

Celebrate Polish culture with a creative twist
 Book a hands-on Polish Paper Cutting Workshop led by Alexandra Lunn, at Boston Manor House tomorrow, Saturday,16 August.
From florals to folk-inspired designs, you’ll craft your own masterpiece while exploring the stories behind My Country is My Home - a beautifully curated celebration of the Polish community’s journey in the UK.

Meanwhile, this Saturday evening in Bell Square, we also have Myzki Fest London, a musical extravaganza from 4pm. Enjoy a free evening of live music and DJs, featuring Blanka Barbara, Retro Girls, Amanda L’ska, Mateusz Mijal & Good Friend Rik.
No booking needed, just turn up and soak in the sounds of contemporary Poland. The festival is presented by Watermans and is part of our Summer of Culture and the UK/Poland Season.
Boston Manor Park Survey
Boston Manor Park has received funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to restore and upgrade the park, run various activities for a range of groups and age ranges, and improve understanding of the park's heritage.
Your experience at Boston Manor Park matters to us, so we are conducting a visitor and volunteer survey to understand how you use it, and what difference the park makes to you. Weed it and reap, Des and Co' are nearly done
Meet Des. He's leading the Council's in-house Horticultural team who've been out and about grafting across the borough over the past month ridding Hounslow of weeds at the peak of their annual growth.
Over 350km of the borough's 465km of verges have been covered to date, and treatments have included the trial of five alternative methods of weed removal.

More free childcare for eligible families in Hounslow
 Eligible families in Hounslow can now access up to 30 hours of free childcare, empowering parents and carers to balance work and family life while ensuring the best start for their children.
From September 2025, parents of children aged 9 months to four years will be able to access 30 hours of childcare per week if they meet eligibility criteria for working families. To access this offer, applications must be submitted by Monday, 31 August 2025.

Job fair to get women into work
 Are you unemployed and looking for work? Come along to a free event at Cranford Community College from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday, 19 August.
At the event, residents can find out about job opportunities and flexible work options in healthcare, admin, early years and more. Attendees can also connect with over 15 employers and organisations, including West Middlesex University Hospital, Lampton Group and Hounslow Parks and Recreation Team, to explore their next steps. Light refreshments will be provided and children are welcome to attend.
Creative Spaces London will provide arts and crafts activities for children of all ages, including bracelet-making and card puppet-making.
This event is part of Work Hounslow's targeted employment support for women in North Hyde and North Cranford, delivered with support from the Council’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team.
Help imagine Hounslow's future
 The Council is launching a series of workshops as part of Hounslow Vision 2050 and it's inviting local community and organisation leaders to take part.
The workshops will explore how to build a more hopeful future for the borough together, focusing on care, ageing, life transitions and time.
You’ll join a group of 12 people from across Hounslow, developing skills in collective imagination - a vital tool for tackling complex challenges.
Children's and young people's health roadshow
 Want to chat about your child’s health? Come and visit the Chiswick Children's and Young People's Health Roadshow and meet various health services that are available in the local area.
The event will take place at the Ground Floor Community Space in Chiswick Health Centre, from 10am - 2pm on Tuesday, 19 August.
