Twenty one pupils from Rivers Academy recently joined more than 10,000 people from across the world to break the Guinness World Record for the largest online cookery session.
The successful record attempt was coordinated by Jamie Oliver's Ministry of Foodand he led the online cooking session himself. It's part of the celebrity chef's efforts to teach everyone the skills to cook healthy meals for themselves. Part of this mission includes supporting everyone leaving education at 16 to be able to cook cheap, nutritional meals.
Jamie's Ministry of Food, which recently teamed up with the Council to tackle obesity among young people.
The weather is forecast to be very warm for the next week. While this brings opportunities to explores Hounslow's great green spaces, it also comes with health risks.
Warm weather can impact vulnerable groups, including older people and those with underlying health conditions. Please take care to protect yourself and others from the potential risks of extreme weather.
People sleeping rough can also suffer severe consequences during hot weather due to the lack of shelter and access to water. If you're worried about someone you see sleeping rough, please contact the Streetlink team who can offer them support.

There is a taster session on Saturday, 12 July where people can attend a single session preview of the programme.
Paid carers needed for Hounslow Shared Lives scheme
The Council is seeking paid carers for its Shared Lives scheme. Shared Lives offers an alternative to supported living or residential care. It matches adults requiring support with approved paid carers in the family home.
The scheme provides for a range of needs and offers support for adults with learning disabilities, mental health issues, physical disabilities, and age-related conditions.
Heston-based Mohinder Dev (pictured) has been a Shared Lives carer for nearly 30 years. She said: “The experience has enriched my life and I have some lovely memories, with hopefully many more to come. When you look after people in this way, you regard them as your family. I look at them as my own.”
The Council's Public Health team is working hard to improve children's oral health. It wants to hear from families with children aged 0-18 to understand their current views and knowledge of the subject.
The responses will give the team an understanding of what people think about looking after children’s teeth.
The team is particularly keen to hear from families with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and those from the South Asian or Traveller community.
Summer is here and lots of Hounslow residents will soon be jetting off on their holidays. While this is an exciting time, it's also important that you keep yourself safe from serious illnesses in certain countries.
Sadly, a woman recently died of rabies following contact with a stray dog in Morocco. If you are travelling to a country with rabies, it’s important to know how to prevent the infection and what actions to take following potential exposure.
There is information on the Travel Health Pro website about which countries are affected by rabies and when you should consider a rabies vaccine before travel.
Imperial College London is looking for people in Hounslow to share information on breast cancer and help save women's lives through increased awareness and early detection.

The opportunity comes with a free two-hour training course, after which you'll receive a certificate, and no previous experience is necessary. If you have any questions, please contact Gaby from Imperial College London.

RM Partners wants you to tell them what would help to make the most of your GP appointments.
This includes how best to speak with your doctor if you are worried about cancer and related symptoms. Planning for this conversation before you go will help them to decide if you need any tests or investigations.
RM Partners has put together a short survey to support its work helping people to prepare for GP appointments where cancer may be involved. Completing it will help to empower people to get the support they need first time.

Music festival season is now upon us. Many people from Hounslow attend these events and some people may take recreational drugs when they're there.
While it is never safe to take drugs and there is no safe amount to take, the Council’s health partners want to share ways that people can lessen the risk of harm if they choose to.
The supply and makeup of drugs is always changing, so it's always best to test and check what is in them before you take anything. Check with the festival to see if there is a drug testing tent, or if there is another way you can get them checked.
If you or someone you knows needs support around drugs or alcohol in Hounslow, get free support at Hype (under 18s) or ARC (adults) on 01895 488675.
