Volunteering - pathway to work
To help residents, refugees and asylum seekers understand the benefits of volunteering, Work Hounslow is delivering online sessions in partnership with Ealing and Hounslow Community and Voluntary Service (EHCVS) fortnightly. The next session will be held on Monday, 21 July.
During the session, speakers from Work Hounslow and EHCVS will cover how to find and apply for local volunteering opportunities.

Helping women in North Hyde and North Cranford into work
 The Council is delivering a pilot place-based programme that offers tailored career advice and guidance for residents who are unemployed or on low incomes.
Women aged 18 and over, living in North Hyde and North Cranford, with a home postcode starting with either TW5 9 or UB2 5, can express their interests via an online form here.
Eligible participants will receive free, one-to-one careers advice and guidance from employment advisors, along with support to improve their employability skills.
Designed and Made in Hounslow
 Learn Hounslow’s craft market is back for its fifth annual celebration of local creativity, taking place on Wednesday, 16 July, from 11am to 3pm at Bell Square, Hounslow High Street.
Organised by Learn Hounslow, the market provides learners with a platform to showcase their handmade products, gain real-world experience, and connect with fellow makers and craft enthusiasts. Open to the public, visitors can browse and purchase a wide variety of locally crafted items in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.
Each year, Learn Hounslow delivers adult and community education to over 2,000 residents, empowering them to explore creative interests, improve wellbeing, and develop skills for employment. The event is free to attend with no prior sign-up required.
Architecture trainee applications open
Residents aged 18-25 who did not attend university can apply for the Build The Way Architecture Traineeship programme. Interested young people can apply online here.
Through this nine-month programme, trainees will develop technical skills and gain hands-on experiences working on projects.

Green Skills bootcamp online information session
 The Council's fourth Green Skills Bootcamp will begin this September, providing training and opportunities for residents looking for work in the green sector. It will cover landscaping, trees and grounds maintenance.
The course lasts 14 weeks and offers the chance to gain industry-recognised certificates, on-the-ground experience through local work placements and a guaranteed interview on completion.

Book a course assessment
 Do you want to build your skills and gain qualifications to help find work?
Residents can enrol in Learn Hounslow courses starting in September. Courses include Maths, English, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), digital skills, creative industry and vocational courses aimed at gaining qualifications.
Assessments for qualification courses begin the week of Monday, 14 July. To book an assessment and find out which courses best suit your needs, call 020 8583 6000.
Career goals drop-in sessions
 Residents can discuss their career goals with Work Hounslow's employment advisors by attending drop-in sessions held at different locations in the borough. You don't need to book an appointment just simply turned up. The dates are:

- 8 July - Meadowbank Adult and Community Education Centre (TW5 9QX), 10am - 11.30am
- Every Tuesday - Asylum seekers and refugees session, Feltham Community Hub (TW13 4GU), 1pm - 4pm
Wednesday
- 9 and 16 July - Construction drop-in at Hounslow House (TW3 3EB), 2.30pm - 4pm
Thursday
- 10 and 24 July - Hounslow House (TW3 3EB), 3pm - 5pm
- Every Thursday - Work Club for residents, refugees and asylum seekers at Heston Library (TW5 0LW), 3.15pm - 5pm
