Cranford Community Hub offers help with food
We recently supported a half term food surplus event at a Community Hub at Cranford Community College, making sure food that might otherwise go to waste was distributed to people who can use it.
The school, which runs Al’s Diner, a free community dining event, on Sundays, promotes a welcoming, friendly and inclusive atmosphere at its Community Hub and food events.

Bowling Balls 2025
Bowling Balls is returning to Holy Trinity Church, Hounslow on Tuesday, 24 June, 11am - 1pm. The event is aimed at raising awareness for men's health and tackling cancer head-on. It will cover prostate cancer, testicular cancer and bowel cancer, including signs and symptoms, screening information and who to talk to for advice.
Hounslow's Health Outreach Team will be there on the day offering their usual advice and health checks for all residents.
Bowling Balls is designed specifically for men with learning disabilities and neurodiversity as well as their caregivers. There is no need to book in advance, you can just turn up on the day.
Get 30 hours of childcare
It’s the final phase of the childcare expansion, which could save families up to £7,500 per year. Apply for your childcare code by Sunday, 31 August to start using the support from September.
Already using 15 hours childcare for working families? You don’t need to reapply for a new code. Simply continue to reconfirm your details every three months on your GOV.UK account and your existing code will update automatically to enable you to take up 30 hours from September.
Hounslow needs you(th)
Young people in Hounslow have made it clear that they want more places and opportunities to connect, socialise and feel a sense of belonging. In response, the borough’s Youth Offer is currently under review.
A new survey is now open to gather feedback from young residents and the wider community, open until Monday, 28 July. Help build a borough where young people feel empowered to thrive by sharing this survey, particularly with residents aged 11-17 or up to 25 with Special Education Needs and Disabilites.
The engagement page also includes a mapping tool to pinpoint and share information about existing youth activities, as well as a discussion forum for adults to share their views on the current youth offer.
Students graduate from celebrated supported internship
Hounslow Council’s latest cohort of DFN Project SEARCH interns graduated this week at West Thames College.
The class of 2024/2025 undertook ‘work rotations’ at Hounslow Council, Thorpe Park, and London Twickenham Stadium Hotel.
Two students have already found employment, with the cohort aiming to maintain the borough’s proud record of helping 70% of the interns into full-time employment over the last ten years.
The Fly-Tipping Detectives return for Part 2
Another fly-tipping hotspot. More illegal waste. And yet another fine issued.
Hounslow Council is stepping up its efforts to keep our streets clean and hold fly-tippers to account. Fly-tipping blights our neighbourhoods – and we are showing zero tolerance.
The Fly-Tipping Detectives are back out on the streets cracking down on offenders.
This time, Councillor Raghwinder Siddhu, Cabinet Member for Community Safety, Customer Experience and Enforcement joins the team at Hounslow High Street, a repeat fly-tipping location. Our officers investigate the scene, gather evidence, and issue tough penalties to those responsible.
The cost of getting caught? £1,000. That’s the fixed penalty fine for anyone caught dumping rubbish illegally in our borough – no excuses, no second chance.

Paving the way for more walking, wheeling and cycling
Hounslow Council is investing in new cycle tracks, paths, and more to make walking, wheeling and cycling safer, easier and more appealing for everyone.
How? Through two new action plans – the walking and wheeling action plan and cycling action plan – that focus on improving access, safety and infrastructure across the borough.
These plans are key to delivering the Council’s wider transport strategy, which focuses on creating a more sustainable, connected borough.
Take a closer look at how we plan to do this.
